"THE ART OF CREATION": INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR AND MODEL D.R. HILDEBRAND PT.2
Human greatness is divided into several types: The innate talent, overwhelming personality and maturity plus humility. When a person is blessed with all the virtues mentioned above, that person is known as a genius,a gifted person who has the ability to fly, create, reinvent the story and write new chapters in the lives of others.
One of all the men I've met throughout my life is a true genius, a gifted man, possessing his own light,
he is an artist, a model whose beauty strikes and becomes unforgettable on your senses.
He says that was discovered at LAX Airport by the renowned photographer James Houston who asked him if he was already modeling, his answer was quirky and clever: "Cats would sooner swim", this wonderful man never imagined he would become the great model that he's now.
He went to one of the most successful modeling agencies around the world L.A. MODELS and now he's being represented by New York Model Management (sister agency based in N.Y.), discovering every day how amazing it is his own person: Raphael Hildebrand

(known as an author under the name D.R. Hildebrand), is emerging so powerfully as the opposite of ordinary, shattering the absurd and superficial ideas that abound about male models,
Raphael is proving that models are sensitive, have a soul, they are smart and have a sixth sense to shine.
In the fashion industry, male models are generally underestimated, but thanks to models such as Raphael, who work with passion, freedom, originality and faith will soon show that a man on the catwalk and in magazines is just as beautiful, talented, brilliant and breathtaking as the women who reign in the industry.
Read the second part of the interview we did with author and model D.R, Hildebrand:
As a model, what do you love the most about your job?
Probably the people. The longer I’ve been in the industry the more frequently I see familiar faces, but it’s meeting new people—hearing their stories, learning their lessons, listening to their ideas—that I really enjoy. People intrigue me. They always have.

What do you dislike about the fashion industry, or about modeling?
Ha—the people… It can be a love-hate relationship…
When and why did you decide to become a model?
I didn’t so much “decide.” I was entering graduate school in 2005 and I thought it might offer me some income, so I explored it. I withdrew from graduate school shortly after I entered, however, and I started writing. That’s when I really began to model.

What's your favorite part of your body?
I guess my hands, my fingers. I’ve always been very tactile, very tuned into the energy we transfer through touch. I grew up realizing how much negative energy we’re able to transmit with our hands and I think it’s led me to concentrate on the positive.
What do you think makes you special?
I don’t know, I think we spend way too much time trying to figure out or identify what separates us from everyone else rather than living our life and simply allowing whatever those special attributes might be to identify themselves. I’m more interested in learning what makes other people special than what makes me special. The world is just too fascinating and diverse to be so self-absorbed.
What's beauty for you?
Oh man. Beauty is a combination of many things, foremost of disregard and aplomb. By disregard I mean that beauty isn’t one’s focus or even one’s awareness, but something that stands unattended, unrehearsed. By aplomb I mean both poise and posture. Together these two qualities create a sort of equanimity, an inner balance in the things we perceive as beautiful—be it a tree or a mountain or a child. Without disregard and aplomb something can still be attractive, but it won’t be beautiful.
What's nudity for you?
Geez. Nudity has been hijacked. Like just about anything, nudity, over time, has become so laden with connotations that it’s impossible to look at a painting, a picture, a statue, someone standing or sitting in front of you without allowing nudity to simply be. Itself. Nudity is individuality.
Does a model have insecurities?
Like a beach has sand. Like an ocean has water.
What model would you like to work with?
Una. She’s a character in my recent novel. We would work very, very well together. Very well.
What has been your most amazing experience working as a model?
Comprehending the power of photoshop. It’s frightening. It’s changed everything. As a model, knowing that a photographer or some outside digital technician can, will manipulate your image… It’s influenced my entire world view—art, ethics, power, truth. Everything.
Who's your favorite fashion designer?
McQueen. I like intellectual art and he was a very intellectual artist.

What's something you would never do as a model?
Let my phone ring at a casting. It drives me crazy when I hear someone’s phone ring at a casting. Absolutely crazy. Is it really so hard to switch it to vibrate? Really?
Is modeling what you thought it would be?
I’m not sure I ever had expectations of the industry. I’m not sure what I thought it would be.

Has modeling changed your life?
There’s nothing I experience that doesn’t change my life…
His extraordinary mind is one of a kind, every time I read his answers I felt so touched and reflected in his words. I have no doubts that Raphael Hildebrand is the fresh blood that the fashion world badly needed.
I admire him inch by inch, word by word. He's the perfect balance between beauty, body, mind and soul.
If you want to see more photos of him visit the gallery of his official website and enjoy him in all his glory as one of the most shocking HAWTNESS of the day on IL BLOG.
Unforgettable, delightful and legendary. Raphael Hildebrand, a living book of wonders.
